Quixotic Brings World-Class Cabaret Experience To Kansas City
“Sensatia” will take the stage at Crown Center in October and November 2019
KANSAS CITY, MO. AUGUST 20, 2019 Sensatia, an interactive cirque-style cabaret from Kansas City’s Quixotic, will transfix and transform Crown Center’s Quixotic Theater (formerly American Heartland Theatre) this fall. The inspired cabaret performances will take place Friday and Saturday nights in October and November of 2019.
Quixotic - an experimental global performance group born in Kansas City and recently branded an “innovative circus ensemble” by The New York Times – originally created Sensatia for The Faena Hotel in Miami, where the show has had a critically-acclaimed run for the past two years. A recent agreement with Crown Center allows the group exclusive performance access to the theater for the duration of the show’s schedule.
“Quixotic is rooted in Kansas City, which is why we are thrilled to return to our hometown with this special show,” Quixotic Creative Director Anthony Magliano, said. “I am excited for people to come out and see what we’ve created, and I believe it will enchant and inspire our audiences. And we are pleased to partner with Crown Center on what will be a truly unique option for weekend nightlife in KC.”
“We’re proud to partner with this great Kansas City company that performs all over the world…and thrilled that they chose Crown Center as their home for Sensatia,” Stacey Paine, President of Crown Center Redevelopment Corp., said. “This expands the options for entertainment at Crown Center, and we think both our local visitors and hotel guests will be in the audience to enjoy their shows.”
Presented by CBD American Shaman, Sensatia fuses film, live music, awe-inspiring acrobatics, projection mapping, culinary arts and more. Sensatia promises a truly unique multi-sensory experience that tells the tale of two uninspired artists – a mechanical ballerina and an overworked violinist – who follow a tempting muse and stumble upon the sumptuous backstage of a fantasy cabaret, where their passion for their respective arts are awakened.
“In addition to featuring our talented in-house troupe, the show will also periodically incorporate unique Kansas City performers and surprise guests,” Quixotic Executive Producer, Mica Thomas, said. “This will give the show a Kansas City flavor and ever-changing aesthetic. No two shows will be exactly alike.”
Sensatia will offer 8:30 p.m. shows every Friday and Saturday. Tickets start at $35. Tickets are available at sensatiakc.com and at the Quixotic Theater at Crown Center Box Office, 2450 Grand Blvd (816) 221-6987. For exciting behind the scenes access, follow the show on Instagram @sensatia_cabaret.

The ensemble was given Silicon Valley’s unofficial stamp of genius when they were invited to perform at the global TED Conference in 2012. A unique blend of performance art, technology and emotion. Quixotic fuses all these elements in to what The New York Times branded an “innovative circus performance,” and Men’s Journal declared “one of the best contemporary [cirque] acts.” They have performed for audiences worldwide and have helped launch brand products for companies such as BVLGARI, Faena Hotels, Garmin, HP, Smithsonian and Toyota. quixoticfusion.com
